I think I will just play it safe and hire someone to do it. Without a model number I can’t be specific in my answer but the image below shows a typical Amana side by side water system hook up. The main inlet from the water supply should be clear as to where it goes and the line you describe going up the back of the refrigerator is the ice maker supply line.
Long story short, floor was laid improperly over cut next to the cupboard beside the refrigerator. We paid them to do the floors and reconnect the fridge and waterlines to the ice maker. All three said when valves sit and dry out, the washers dry out causing leaks. They all said it should have been clear upon hook up. It leaked down and inside the wall as well as under the carpet on the other side of the wall newly installed too , and under the vinyl.
It went under the counter next to the fridge and into the pantry walls and floor. We didn’t know it was leaking 4 months until my carpet was wet since the water went under the vinyl flooring instead of over it.

I believe there are 20 pitches, some of which are for tents. This time of year obviously doesn’t show a site at its best.

Aug 20, 0 comments I bought a new refrigerator from Lowes and Expo came out the next day to deliver it. Lowes – Review in Installers category from Whittier, North Carolina Once disconnected water starting spraying all over my kitchen walls and flooding the floor. All the guy did was put his thumb on the connection, my wife had turn the water off for them. So while my wife is on her knees cleaning up water that they refused to clean, one of the men got under the sink where the connection was and somehow, God only know how, disconnected the hose from the connection.
If the refrigerator is between two walls, you will have to pull it completely out to get behind it. Be careful when you pull the refrigerator out because the copper water line is coiled up behind the refrigerator, and you don’t want to kink it when you move the refrigerator.
I have seen many valves have a hairline crack in the actual blue plastic housing, at a mold injection seam, where the plastic meets the metal portion of the valve, out the top of the solenoid housing, the part of the valve that looks like one half of a snap button on a pair of old jeans. If your leak is anywhere BUT precisely at the inlet connection, you need a new valve.
If your leak is indeed at that connection, check a couple of things. First, turn the water off after you determine source of leak. If its copper you are using, which is much better than plastic btw, major drawback is that it can kink, but major plus is its much more durable than plastic.. This setup puts the least amount of stress on the water line when pulling out to clean behind unit. If you are using plastic tubing, major drawbacks, can crack, split and spring pinhole leaks, you will do two things different.
Instead of a copper ferrule or sleeve, you will use a plastic one, in addition you will also use a metal insert piece that inserts into the end of the plastic tube, which again should be cleanly cut, having a circular end that is square to the side with no burrs, this insert prevents the plastic line from pinching inward, which would prevent a tight seal, causing a leak. When using plastic tubing, Be careful not to overtighten.

Freezers In-the-door ice and water dispensers have become common on refrigerators, especially in the bottom-freezer and side-by-side categories. In fact, depending on what size refrigerator you’re shopping for, you might have a hard time finding a model that doesn’t offer this feature. And it can be a nice convenience, especially if you entertain often or your household goes through a lot of water and ice.
A refrigerator with an automated ice maker and a built-in water dispenser does absolutely nothing if you do not have a water line to connect to it. Many homes h.
There is always a nice feeling of accomplishment that a homeowner can enjoy when you hook up your faucet water filter system to give you an endless supply of pure, clean, and good-tasting filtered water. Since tap water that goes through a quality water filtration system is even better water than what you can buy at the store, you may be able to pay for that water filter system pretty quickly by simply not having to buy bottled water any more. That joy and sense of accomplishment may be diminished when you step back and watch how your family gets cold water to drink on a regular basis.
If they routinely draw their drinking water from the faucet that is in the door of the refrigerator, you may suddenly realize that your shiny new faucet water filtration system is not enough. You should also consider whether adding a refrigerator water filter is in order. If the water that comes into the refrigerator through a separate line is not being filtered correctly, your efforts to assure healthy drinking water for your family might be coming undone when they put ice that is full of contaminants in their water.
